Description

Husch Blackwell, a national law firm, has an immediate opening in its Boston office for a Healthcare Regulatory Associate with a minimum of two years of experience.  The ideal candidate will have experience with heath care regulatory, transactional and compliance matters.

 Specific responsibilities include:

  • Preparing comprehensive regulatory filings that require significant persuasive writing to obtain approvals from various regulatory agencies including but not limited to the Department of Public Health, including its Determination of Need Program, the Department of Mental Health, the Health Policy Commission, MassHealth and the Department of the Attorney General.
  • Researching, analyzing and summarizing state and federal health care laws and regulations in response to client inquiries.
  • Researching and summarizing health policy issues through analyses of evidence-based journal articles with respect to health care delivery advances.
  • Supporting the firm’s work related to regulatory compliance, healthcare transactions, contracting, and provider affiliations.


The ideal candidate must have a strong academic record, strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work well with a team as well as independently, superior judgment, the ability to effectively and efficiently handle and understand priorities related to multiple concurrent projects, and the ability to clearly articulate legal strategies and courses of action in a concise and thoughtful manner in both written and oral communications.  In addition, the candidate will have extensive experience preparing successful regulatory filings.  Experience in the areas of compliance, transactions, contracting and provider affiliations, as well as experience interacting with the federal Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services is preferred.  Candidates should have a Massachusetts bar license or commit to obtaining one as soon as possible.
